First trip away

 April 2022- first weekend away   By the beginning of April the sale of the property had gone through after a couple of wee hiccups over the location of the boundaries and I was keen to pack up my trusty of ex-rental campervan and head down and spend a weekend at Miller’s Flat and dream about what I was going to do with the land. I arrived after dark and was greeted to a misty morning but the mist soon lifted with the arrival of the sun.  The land is located across the road from the Clutha river, which is about 50m away to the north, and gently slopes up to the base of the hill gaining 2-3 meters in elevation to the base of the hill. It is on this  southern boundary that I want to build some a small bach or cabin to make the most of the views up the valley towards the Old Man Range (Kopuwai) and across the road to the Clutha.   With hot and dry summers, this part of the country is famous for fruit harvesting and so I am keen to develop an orchard of peaches, nectarines, apricots and
